Kids' Portal: Escape Into Knowledge Campaign

Help revitalize the Children’s Department at the Parry Sound Public Library with the launch of Kids’ Portal: Escape into Knowledge. Our goal with Kids’ Portal: Escape into Knowledge is to create a safe space that promotes creativity, inclusion and learning.
Our funding goals will allow us to breathe fresh life into an already well-loved community space. An enticing custom archway will be the entrance to the Kids’ Portal. This will be a unique visual entrance, highlighting our Northern Ontario culture.
Play-learning spaces are integral to creating a positive library experience and literacy play tools will help children acquire a firm foundation of general knowledge and allow them to become successful readers.

Living in an innovative world, it is more important than ever to help children thrive by introducing them to technology in a safe environment. Meeting our funding goals will allow the library to purchase All-in-One Early Literacy Computer Stations. These stations are designed for children ages 2-8 and come pre-loaded with 75+ award winning learning activities. The programs are STREAM-aligned and include everything from cyber safety and coding to handwriting and reading.
Parry Sound Public Library serves the Town of Parry Sound as well as the Township of the Archipelago, Carling Township and the Municipality of McDougall, providing library services to over 10,000 residents in Northern Ontario.
Located in downtown Parry Sound, the Library also serves as a community hub. In the summer, the town’s population triples with an influx of tourists and travelers from all over the world. Your donation has the potential to reach thousands of families, sparking creativity in the community, lighting up young minds and encouraging them to embrace lifelong learning.
*Donations of $30.00 and over are eligible for a charitable tax receipt. If you would like to be issued a tax receipt, please contact the library.
